三、 知识点整理
1．while
(1) while并列连词，表示对比或对照 Mr Smith is a play writer while his wife is a famous actress.
⑵while当……的时候，引导时间状语从句 While working in the office, he found a stranger steal in.
⑶while表示让步，“虽然，尽管” While the parents love the children, they are strict with them.
2．Customers see so many ads every day that advertisers must work hard to get their message across.
【so many / much / few / little … that…】
3. Armed with facts and figures, customers are better able to deal with the often powerful arguments given by a salesman or saleswoman. [armed with… 过去分词短语作状语]
4．倍数表示法：
1) 倍数 ＋ as +形容词原级 +as … Tom is two times / twice as old as Jerry.
2) 倍数 ＋形容词比较级＋than… Tom is twice older than Jerry.
3) 倍数 ＋名词（比较的尺度大小等名词） ＋ of…Tom is two times the age of Jerry.
4) 倍数 ＋that/ those of… Tom’s age is two times that of Jerry’s. (that of = as much as )
5. The climate is different depending on the area.气候情况因地区不同而各异。【depending on the area 在句中作伴随状态，其逻辑主语是句子主语the climate】
6. thus 引导前面话语的结果或结论，意思是“因此，于是”He didn’t study hard, and thus failed the test.
7. People read advertisements party for information and partly because they are interesting. [ partly 意思是“部分地，有几分地”
